About Cell Coach

Cell Coach is a free site for anyone who uses Microsoft Excel. Describe a problem and it recommends a formula, then explains how it works in Excel and what the idea means in general.

It was built by Patrick Huntley, a Finance student who wanted a clear, free way to learn spreadsheets. There are no accounts, no subscriptions and no ads.

How the answers are checked

Formulas in the library and the formula builder are tested in Excel on sample data. Step-by-step instructions are written by hand, and menus can differ between versions of Excel. Always check the result on your own data before relying on it, especially for financial decisions.

Cell Coach teaches spreadsheet skills. It does not give financial, tax or legal advice.
