Work out straight-line depreciation
=SLN(B1,B2,B3)How it works in Excel
- B1 is what the asset cost.
- B2 is what it will be worth at the end.
- B3 is how many years it lasts.
- This gives the same amount every year.
- DDB and SYD give bigger amounts in the early years.
The idea in general
It spreads the cost of something over the years you use it.
What I assumed
- The cost is in B1, the end value is in B2 and the years are in B3.
