Using functions

What a function is

A function is a ready-made calculation. You give it a name and put what it needs inside brackets.

=SUM(B2:B5)

The ones to know first

SUM adds, AVERAGE finds the mean, MAX and MIN find the biggest and smallest, and COUNT counts the cells with numbers.

Items are separated by commas

When a function needs several things, commas separate them. ROUND needs a number and how many decimal places to keep.

=ROUND(B2,2)
