Add a dropdown list
What to do
- Select the cells.
- Go to Data, then Data Validation.
- Under Allow, choose List.
- In Source, type the choices with commas, or select a range.
- Click OK.
Good to know
- Pointing Source at a range makes the list easy to update.
- To remove it, return to Data Validation and click Clear All.
The idea in general
Limiting people to set choices stops typos and keeps the data clean.
