How do I...
Give a cell or range a name
What to do
- Select the cells.
- Click the Name Box, to the left of the formula bar.
- Type a name with no spaces, such as TaxRate.
- Press Enter.
Good to know
- You can then write =B2*TaxRate.
- Edit or delete names under Formulas, then Name Manager.
The idea in general
A name is easier to read than a cell address, and it never moves.
What I assumed
- You are using Excel on a computer. Menus can look a little different on a Mac or in a browser.
