Find a probability on a bell curve
=NORM.DIST(B1,B2,B3,TRUE)How it works in Excel
- B1 is the value.
- B2 is the mean.
- B3 is the standard deviation.
- TRUE gives the chance of being at or below the value.
- NORM.INV goes the other way, from a probability to a value.
The idea in general
It measures how much of the bell curve sits to the left of a point.
What I assumed
- The value is in B1, the mean is in B2 and the standard deviation is in B3.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
