Get back a file I did not save
What to do
- Open Excel and go to File, then Info.
- Click Manage Workbook, then Recover Unsaved Workbooks.
- Open the file you need and save it straight away.
Good to know
- Files saved to OneDrive have Version History, on the same screen.
- Recovery depends on AutoRecover being on, so it cannot always help.
The idea in general
Excel keeps backup copies in the background, and this is where they are.
What I assumed
- You are using Excel on a computer. Menus can look a little different on a Mac or in a browser.
