Test if two groups really differ
=T.TEST(A2:A5,B2:B5,2,3)How it works in Excel
- A2:A5 and B2:B5 are the two groups.
- 2 means a two-sided test.
- 3 means the groups may have different spreads.
- The result is the p-value.
- Below 0.05 is the usual cutoff for "significant".
- Use 1 as the last item for paired data.
The idea in general
It asks how likely a gap this big would be if the groups were really the same.
What I assumed
- The two groups are in A2:A5 and B2:B5.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
