Split a column with the Text to Columns tool
What to do
- Select the column.
- Go to Data, then Text to Columns.
- Choose Delimited and click Next.
- Tick what separates the parts, such as Comma or Space.
- Click Finish.
Good to know
- Make sure the columns to the right are empty, or they will be overwritten.
- The TEXTSPLIT formula does this with results that update.
The idea in general
It cuts each cell into pieces wherever a marker appears.
