Make decisions
Show one result or another (IF)
=IF(B2>=60,"Pass","Fail")How it works in Excel
- B2>=60 is the test.
- "Pass" shows if the test is true.
- "Fail" shows if the test is false.
- Text answers need quotation marks, but numbers do not.
- You can use another formula as a result.
- Common tests are =, <>, >, <, >= and <=.
The idea in general
It is a fork in the road: if something is true do one thing, otherwise do the other.
What I assumed
- The value being tested is in B2 and the cutoff is 60.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
