Make decisions
Choose between several results (IFS)
=IFS(B2>=90,"A",B2>=80,"B",B2>=70,"C",TRUE,"F")How it works in Excel
- Excel checks each test from left to right.
- It stops at the first test that is true.
- TRUE at the end catches everything else.
- Order matters: start with the highest cutoff.
- Without the final TRUE, an unmatched value shows #N/A.
- IFS needs Excel 2019 or later. Use nested IF on older versions.
The idea in general
It works like a checklist from top to bottom, and you stop at the first line that fits.
What I assumed
- The score is in B2 and the cutoffs are 90, 80 and 70.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
