Add and count
Count how many times something appears
=COUNTIF(A2:A5,E2)How it works in Excel
- A2:A5 is the list to check.
- E2 is what to count.
- You can count with a test, such as ">100".
- Use "*text*" to count cells that contain a word.
- COUNTIF ignores upper and lower case.
The idea in general
It works like keeping a tally: each time you see the item, add one.
What I assumed
- Your list is in A2:A5 and the item to count is in E2.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
