Find the highest number in one category
=MAXIFS(B2:B5,A2:A5,E2)How it works in Excel
- B2:B5 holds the numbers.
- A2:A5 is the column to check.
- E2 is the category.
- MINIFS finds the lowest the same way.
- You can add more conditions as extra pairs.
- It needs Excel 2019 or later.
The idea in general
First narrow the list to one group, then pick its biggest number.
What I assumed
- The categories are in A2:A5, the numbers are in B2:B5 and the category is in E2.
