Add and count
Add up numbers between two dates
=SUMIFS(B2:B5,A2:A5,">="&E1,A2:A5,"<="&E2)How it works in Excel
- B2:B5 holds the numbers.
- ">="&E1 keeps dates from the start date on.
- "<="&E2 keeps dates up to the end date.
- The & joins the sign to the date in the cell.
- Both dates are included.
- Dates stored as text will not match.
The idea in general
Put a fence at each end of a time period and add only what falls inside.
What I assumed
- The dates are in A2:A5, the numbers are in B2:B5, and the start and end are in E1 and E2.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
