Look things up
Compare two lists to find what is missing
=IF(ISNA(MATCH(A2,$C$2:$C$5,0)),"Missing","Found")How it works in Excel
- MATCH looks for A2 in the second list.
- ISNA is true when MATCH cannot find it.
- Copy it down beside the first list.
- Run it the other way to find items missing from the first list.
- Hidden spaces and numbers stored as text are the usual reasons for false "Missing" results.
The idea in general
You tick each item on one list against the other, and flag whatever is not there.
What I assumed
- The first list starts in A2 and the second list is in C2:C5.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
