Work with dates
Count days between two dates
=B2-A2How it works in Excel
- Excel stores each date as a number.
- Subtracting the earlier date from the later one gives the days between them.
- If the result looks like a date, change the cell format to Number.
- If you get #VALUE!, one of the dates may be stored as text.
The idea in general
Dates are positions on a long number line, so the gap is one minus the other.
What I assumed
- The start date is in A2 and the end date is in B2.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
