Work with dates
Add months to a date
=EDATE(A2,3)How it works in Excel
- A2 is the starting date.
- 3 is the number of months to add.
- Format the cell as a date if you see a plain number.
- Use a negative number to go back in time.
- If the new month is shorter, it lands on the last day of that month.
The idea in general
It moves forward on the calendar by whole months, not by a fixed number of days.
What I assumed
- The starting date is in A2 and you want to add 3 months.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
