Check if something is in a list
=IF(COUNTIF(A2:A5,E2)>0,"Yes","No")How it works in Excel
- COUNTIF counts how many times E2 is in the list.
- More than 0 means it is there.
- Upper and lower case are treated the same.
- Hidden spaces can stop a match. TRIM can clean those.
The idea in general
Checking a guest list is really just counting if the name is on it at least once.
What I assumed
- The list is in A2:A5 and the item is in E2.
