Look things up
Find the last entry in a column
=LOOKUP(2,1/(A2:A10<>""),A2:A10)How it works in Excel
- (A2:A10<>"") marks the cells that are filled.
- 1 divided by that gives 1 for filled cells and an error for empty ones.
- LOOKUP searches for 2, misses, and settles on the last 1.
- This trick works in every version.
- Make the range bigger than your list, so new entries are included.
The idea in general
It walks to the end of the list and steps back to the last spot in use.
What I assumed
- Your list is somewhere in A2:A10.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
