Sort a list with a formula
=SORT(A2:B5,2,-1)How it works in Excel
- A2:B5 is the table.
- 2 means sort by the second column.
- -1 means highest first. Use 1 for lowest first.
- Results flow into nearby cells, so keep them empty.
- The sorted copy updates when the data changes.
- It needs Excel 2021 or Microsoft 365.
The idea in general
It makes a tidy copy in order and leaves the original alone.
What I assumed
- Your table is in A2:B5.
Check the result on your own data before relying on it.
