Count down the days until a date
=A2-TODAY()How it works in Excel
- A2 is the future date.
- TODAY() is the current date.
- The result is the days left.
- A negative result means the date has passed.
- Format the cell as Number if it shows a date.
The idea in general
It measures the gap between now and a fixed point, and the gap shrinks each day.
