Fix an error
Fix the #NUM! error
What to do
- #NUM! means the numbers cannot give a valid answer.
- Check for impossible math, such as the square root of a negative.
- For IRR or RATE, check the cash flows have both a negative and a positive.
Good to know
- DATEDIF gives this when the dates are the wrong way round.
- Results too large for Excel cause it too.
The idea in general
The math has no answer that Excel can show.
What I assumed
- You are using Excel on a computer. Menus can look a little different on a Mac or in a browser.
